K so i am a very skinny and tall male who need a daily morning fitness routine that could build some biceps, triceps, forearms, and chest muscle. Its winter break, and i want to form the habit, so that when schools starts, I don’t become too lazy. I am not at all fit. Also a jog is not an option as i live in a winter city. All I have is 1 weight of 5 pounds which I found in the storage. A daily fitness routine would be very helpful. Thank you so much. And also if you could provide me the number of days it would take to build descent muscle. I don’t want to go too much, but wants a swimmer-like body.

I am 13 years, 5’1 102 pounds, I am trying to get to my peak fitness, speed and strength for rugby this winter (New Zealander.). At The Moment I am Doing Circuit Training and Sprint training, During My circuit i do low weight high rep bench-press, skipping, boxing bag, press ups, sit ups and other high intensity training, I have a good low fat high protein and carbohydrate diet. Have you Got Any Tips?

well im a boxer and these are my tips for a workout on muscle.
only do your training on time not how much u do it. when skipping use a speed rope and go at a reasonable pace for 2 minutes, rest and go again until you have done 10-20 minutes of it. go for runs in the morning come home and do a workout on the bag and make sure you get a sweat within a couple of minutes working out. after that skip for 10 minutes then try do 30 pushups. if its to easy go for 50 but im pretty sure you wont make it. the run should be 3-4km

Running Fitness Training Tips?

Hello everyone. So last spring I recently joined my high school’s track and field team. I was only in 9th grade so I wasn’t good or anything. I ran around a 5:30 mile time and 12:00 2 mile time on average. My best time for the mile was 5:19 and 2 mile was 11:53. It was my first time doing competitive running so I didnt expect to be spectacular. However, as the season went on, I found myself really enjoying running, which has made me decide to quit basketball during the winter season and do indoor track in winter and continue with outdoor track in the spring (staying with soccer in fall). Next year (my sophomore year), however, I actually want to be good and make varsity by spring outdoor track season. I have done many running based workouts like fartleks and 800 splits and stuff in and out of the season, which has slightly lowered my times. Nevertheless, I still feel as though my core strength (and overall muscle and body fitness outside of running) could use some major improvement. I tend to slouch a lot when im tired during a run and I am awful at hills. Do any runners out there do workouts designed to improve their body fitness for running? Workouts that are designed to improve running by strengthening and conditioning specific body areas? Maybe training workouts that would improve posture during a run? Thanks!
Also my weight/BMI and all is fine. I would like to gain more lean muscle and strength in my body. Eating and diet tips are still appreciated as well!

Firstly, a couple of hours before, have some slow release carbs like pasta or porridge, may help with the tiredness during the run. Also, keep hydrated by sipping water throughout the day. A coffee before can help provided you’re not too desensitized to caffeine..
Your core can be improved with the usual crunches, planks etc.
You could do a mixture of interval training, hill sprints and some shorter runs than you’re use to to mix it up somewhat..
Otherwise, consistancy with training, recovery through high protein foods and rest and also uplifting music during training will help you on your way.

Anyone can tell you who tried these home fitness craps can say to you, I tried it but I never could follow the directions in time and therefore I ended up with more frustration than fitness!

If you are as quick as a mouse and as fast as a gazelle and you can learn body language in a blink of an eye, then you should buy it. Other than that, stick to your own work out ideas and save money as well as prevent you from throwing the dam thing in the garbage and losing money!

Fitness (Running) training..HELP!!!!?

I am needing to start training for a Police Fitness Run, however although I am a fit person, I am seriously unable to run. I can manage 400m at a light pace and am struggling to breathe. I need some tips on how to get my running fitness into shape and improve this so i can ace my test in a couple of months.

How long should i be running for, how often, how far? I’ve been pushing myself to do 1KM about 4 times a day, am doing it in 4 minutes or less. Just struggle so much.

Any help would be great!

I recently posted a question but didn’t recieve the answer i needed…
The run is 2.4 km.. the 400m i mentioned is how far i can run without gasping for air and feeling like collapsing.. hence I’m only running 1km. therefore 2-3km running isnt an option.. i need to get to this!

You can run in tv sand it get your leg pumpt up. It will get harder but when you start runinf in firm grown it improve your runing see.

Well, Im 16 and weigh 306 pounds at about six feet in height. I just started Varsity Football for my school. Well, my coach told me that he will prefer me at a weight of 280 by about July. I just wanted any and all tips that someone can think of that will hep me with my goal and increase my football skills. Hopefullly, improving my speed, explosion, agility, strength, etc,. Is this goal attainable and what do you reccomend I do?

It can happen, you just have to set your goals and keep them no matter what.

Eat healthy, workout 2-3 hours a day, each day do different workouts for different parts of the body, run a mile or two everyday. etc etc

1. No soda. Period.

2. Dessert and other SMALL “unhealthy” things are ok once in a while if you’ve been working really hard.

3. Great workout includes 20 minutes of weights and 30 minutes of cardio- BOTH GUYS AND GIRLS. Add extra if you wish.

4. Drink water to fill yourself if you’re hungry and it’s not time to eat. Sugar free gum works well too.

Physical Fitness Test Running?

Hey. I need to get at least 21 minutes or below on my 3 mile run, but right now, I am at around 24 minutes. I have everything else on the PFT set, but I need a score of 280 or higher. Do any of you guys have advice for improving on your 3 mile? I can run at a decent pace at first, but then after a while it’s hard to breath.

Also, is there a way to improve a 6:48 mile to a 6:30 or below mile in one week? Thanks.

I’m in the same place as you. You are one minute faster than I am at the 3 mile run. What helps me a lot is to make sure I have a cadence in my breathing; like breathe in for 2 steps and breathe out for 2 steps. It helps a lot, since you aren’t erratically breathing.

Also, try lifting your knees up a little when you run.

One thing that helps me a lot is to make sure I’m leaning forward just a little, not not arching my back. Good posture.

Make sure when you bring your foot off the ground, “spring” your foot. Extend your foot like you would when you’re on your tip-toes. It helps a lot when your tired elsewhere and need an extra boost. Try it out in a few test runs to see if you can do it the entire time. If you can’t, then do it in the end when the rest of your body is tired. That way your ankles are fresh and ready and you can run a little faster.

Don’t cross your arms across the center of your body. Keep them on their respective sides. Not doing so will cause your whole body to twist and slow you down.

Relax your face and especially your arms/hands. Don’t pump them like sprinting, and don’t clench your fists. It wastes energy. Loose, relaxed motions, but not to where you’re dancing or flopping around.

Eat a solid meal filled with GOOD carbs. Not sugary, easily-burnt carbs. Eat seeds, nuts, bananas, etc. Also have a water bottle filled with slightly salty water for electrolytes. Do this all an hour before you run.

When you run, look forward. Looking down restricts your airflow. Have your head up. Breathe through your shoulders, not your stomach. Your chest should move up and down, allowing all the air possible in. Bring your shoulders back a little; still comfortable and relaxed, but enough to puff out your chest just a tad.

If you gets cramps, breathe in as deep as you can and breathe out everything. Cramps in your side mostly come from excess carbon dioxide building up. It is heavier than oxygen. If you don’t take full breathes and breathe all your air out, it may collect over time.

workout and fitness tips?

okay, this kind of sucks..

just turned fifteen for almost 2 months now.. i’m about 175lb, got a semi-big belly, big thighs, very low stamina, ican’t run–like run run–for more than 40 seconds, or was it less..

i’m kind of weak too, i’ve tried to start this habit of doing at least 50 reps on my 6lb barbell, about 15-20 pushups a day since 2 days ago…. i know i’m supposed to jog like at least 10 min a day but there just ain’t no motivation….

so, any tips?
oh and, am i going to get anything good w/ what i’ve been doing if i keep it up?

How do you get better fitness results?

I have been going to the gym and I haven’t gotten any results on my legs. I am a girl and I have been using all the leg machines. If you could please give me some tips on how to get quicker results. First off diet is a main factor is toning up. So make sure you’re eating healthy and in correct portions. But I would try other ways besides leg machines like: squats, good mornings, dead lifts. Those will all help with leg strength. For a flatter stomach do abs and also diet.

Does anyone have any tips for fitness on the treadmill?

Its winter here in WI so I get my excercise on the treadmill. I just started getting into it last week, and wondered if there are any tips on doing the treadmill that will get better results?

I also have Zumba for the Wii, we have a few sets of handweights, an ab lounger and a bench press. I do the treadmill more due to convenience and not alot of room for Zumba in the living room. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks!

PS: I’ve lost 12 pounds in the last month

run, then walk. thats what i do, that way you keep a long distance thing going. set a calorie goal. mine is 500. that’s about four miles or a little bit more, depending on your speed and age. im personally 18, 135 pounds, 5’3, and trying to lose ten pounds. you would need to give us more info for us to give you a great workout for you personally, but in my experience, setting goals and running in intervals of speedy jogging, then sprinting, then walking, then slow walking, really help to keep ya motivated.
