Some good betting tips for a beginner?

Question by Ashlee: Some good betting tips for a beginner?
As kind of a late birthday gift, my parents took me to Las Vegas. Inside the Harrah’s Casino in the backroom was the room where they had all the racetracks where you can bet on the horses, among other sports. I asked the guy at the desk if he could explain how the horse betting system works and even after that it was still a bit confusing for me. I decided i would bet on a horse named Straight Story to win this race at Monmouth Park. He was the second favorite but he won the race. I won $ 2.10 but i though it would be more than that? After that i bet on a horse named Lela to win, place or show a race for fillies and mares. She finished 4th. I’ve been on several betting sites and was wondering if anyone else has any good info/tips?Thank you!

Answer by Sandra S.
As a handicapper for many years, there are no magic handicappers or formulas I promise you. But, I can help you get on your way with knowledge… YOU first must know how to understand race horse handicapping. Assuming you don’t..your will definitely need to know how to read a horse racing form. Handicapping is a skill in which one gets better with time, and with time your skill will still continue to grow. I’ve been handicapping for years and still find new angles. When making picks, I first handicap the race, I look at each horse’s performance under prior racing conditions that most matches the conditions of the track and race that day. This information is usually in the program. The Daily Racing Form (DRF) is a great source on-line and is usually on sale at the track, this form is designed to provide all of the past performance information, as well as articles, analysis, and handicapper picks and tips.
Keep in mind, The Daily Racing Form has an incredible amount of information entered into a small space, so abbreviations are used, and columns are used. It’s not as confusing as you would think. Once you’re familiar with reading the Information properly, it becomes very easy. The bottom line is to seek for clues to predict the winner of the race. Most importantly, handicapping is taking all of the available information, combining it all, and analyzing the horses. The more information you utilize in your picks, over time you will better your chances of having winning tickets. It is, of course, NOT guaranteed that you’ll always have the winner, you’re dealing only with probabilities and possibilities, because Horse Racing is very unpredictable, anything can happen at any time and it usually does, so if anyone promises a guaranteed pick, don’t ever believe it, for it’s impossible. I enjoy horse racing, however, I only bet on certain races, mostly the High Stake Races. I do it for fun, and manage my money wisely. I’m very active in helping race horses, trainers and owner, and the Industry, so it’s more than a betting game to me. I love it, and I’m not in it for the gamble. Always remember there is NO Guarantee in anything ! The odds on a horse are a good indicator of where the horse is expected to finish (a horse with 2/1 odds has a better chance of winning than a 30/1 horse, but the 30/1 horse is a much better payout, however, if you want to play it safe, look for a horse with at least 3/1 odds). Other factors to take into consideration: When did the horse run its last race? Experts say you want your horse to have run a race within the last 28 days to be sure it’s in good shape. How many horses are competing? Obviously, it’s a lot harder to pick a winner when there are a lot of contestants in the race. What does it say on the horses form? If there is a C, the horse has won on that track before. If there is a D, the horse has won on that distance before. These are both good bets. These are some tips, however, there’s a whole lot more to handicapping, and it’s a skill that takes time and the learning never ends.

Good Luck To YOU ! Have Fun !

You should find out if one of your friends are trying out for the team too. You sound relatively new to the sport, so just kick a soccer ball with them occasionaly. Try to attend a soccer camp if you can find one.

How do you get good results for slimmer thighs and waist line?

Question by Jen: How do you get good results for slimmer thighs and waist line?
Don’t be a jerk and say your fat. I’m not. I’m 5’2, and 125. I just would like to know a good exercise habit to get in shape for track season and just good fitness tips to get results for slimmer waist line and thighs.

Best answer:

Answer by ?
You have several hundred muscles in your leg, butt, hip, thigh and lower stomach area. The major problem is, not exercising these muscles correctly will make your trouble spots worse and more pronounced, while risking serious injury. However, the right exercises that use these muscles in harmony with each other can bring definite results without spending unrealistic amounts of time on ineffective exercises and risking long term set-backs. You don’t need access to a gym because this type of approach doesn’t require weights and machines.

I am a 5.7 and 25 years old and a month ago I weigh 147lbs although about a year ago I weighed 188lbs. I am not very happy with how I look, although I have slimmed down a lot, but I still look like I’m pregnant. My stomach is flabby, my butt is big and I just feel and look disgusting. I used to run on treadmill for 15-20 mins then do some stretching for 10 min and then workout for 30-40 mins and all this 7 days a week. But I just couldn’t reach my goal. It is enough to make anyone frustrated.

A month ago a friend introduced me a workout program. I was skeptical at first that this would work by itself. Targeted weight loss is quite tough, some would say impossible, but it definitely does produce results. I have lost 20 lbs in four weeks plus 3 inches from my stomach and even my legs are much more slimmer then before. If you are wondering that this program is too good to be true then get your FREE copy of ‘The Leg, Butt, Hip and Thigh Enhancement e-Guide’ at the source below. You will not regret it! And your body will thank you for it.

What is a good weight lifting routine for soccer?

Question by AndyM: What is a good weight lifting routine for soccer?
My foot and dribbling skills are good, however, I think the time has come for me to work on my speed & explosiveness. I play twice a week and run a 5k 2x/week, but seem to neglect working on my legs when it comes to weights. Does anybody have any tips on lifting for speed? I usually do 3 sets of 15-20 reps but I feel like I’m getting nowhere.

Best answer:

Answer by Shaun
Ankle weights are good for increasing speed. Strap them on, go for a jog. Take them off and you feel light as a feather and your acceleration increased tenfold. Try and research fast twitch fibre muscle workouts as well, that will help. Your glutes (@ss) is where your power comes from when your running. Really work your legs. Cycling is very good for your legs plus a strong core gives you balance and that platform for when you explode of the spot in a sprint (and running in general). Normal weight exercises for your legs to make them stronger would be good. Always do light weight warm up reps before each exercise though to avoid injury. I enjoy working my legs and getting them as strong as possible (plus it looks good for your physique). Over a 25-30 yard sprint there’s no one in my team that can beat me. I’m just so quick of the mark (almost springy like). Good luck with the workouts mate and your Soccer games.

What are some tips for finding a good gym?

Question by Slycat: What are some tips for finding a good gym?
I’m reaallly scrawny and I’m self-conscious about it. I don’t even wear shorts outside in the summer. I want to bulk up and I think a gym would be the best place but I’m not sure if I can get over the anxiety, with most people in gyms already in way better shape than me. Anyone have ideas/tips? What kind of things should I look for?
I’m 23. I only look like a teen.

Best answer:

Answer by Nate4846
I am guessing your a teen. Well usually your school has a weight room. and just get some one you kinds know to help you out that already goes to a gym. Dont be self concious people will respect you at a gym for trying hard and working hard, not for putting a ton of weight on and doing it completely wrong because its too much weight. also make sure you get a good mix of calisthenics, core workout, weights and cardio

first off all you have to get back into condition. This is the most important so make sure you run alot to get your fitness and condition back. Then just do simple things like keep ups and just dribble the ball around. That is pretty much the best way

Q&A: What are some good tips for my first horse show?

Question by Bella: What are some good tips for my first horse show?
I’m a little nerves! I need good tips to help me rember during my show! I’m entering walk/trot in English on my gypsy vanner on April 18 in shelbyville TN!!! Please Im not that good but I don’t want to be horable at my first show thanks!
How will I know that I am on my right diangle?

Best answer:

Answer by Katie
Be CONFIDENT!
Confidence is a huge part of showing horses.
If your horse misbehaves, correct it and go on like nothing happened. The judges will notice that sort of positive attitude.
Also, gypsy vanner’s are usually pretty flashy, use that to your advantage.
If it is a pattern class, remember each element is scored separate from the rest, so if you mess one up, make the next one AWESOME.
Don’t forget that it is your first show, and so you have a little wiggle room on making mistakes.
Deep breaths are the key. icon smile Q&A: What are some good tips for my first horse show?

What’s a good 15 minute workout for the holidays?

Question by Twizted: What’s a good 15 minute workout for the holidays?
I’m working at my job, all thanksgiving, which means, I won’t even have enough time to workout. Does anyone have any tips and tricks to maintaining my weight while working all the time?

Best answer:

Answer by Center
Tabata training.

It’s like a 60-minute intense workout packed into just 4 minutes. It involves intense cardio for 20 seconds and then 10 seconds of rest, on a continuous cycle, 8 times in total.

Trust me, this is the best workout you can get in that amount of time. You will be absolutely unable to move after this workout.

Here’s a link to the custom Tabata training timer:

Q&A: What are some good fitness tips?

Question by Best Actor Ever!!!: What are some good fitness tips?
I have been trying to lose weight for a couple months now and has been stuck at one weight. Do anyone have any fitness tips and also eating tips for me?

Best answer:

Answer by EddySays
80% of weight loss is diet.
You can eat a healthy diet and lose weight.
You can eat a healthy diet and exercise and lose more weight.
You can exercise and eat a poor diet and not lose and even gain weight.
A good healthy diet high in fiber, lean meats, eggs, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, antioxidant foods, healthy beverages and low in added sugar and salt help people lose weight, lower cholesterol, increase energy, improve brain function, lower blood pressure, reduce cancer risk and have a more positive lifestyle!
You need to eat a lot more food and a lot more fiber!
Diets that exclude foods from any food group are fad diets and do not lead to permanent weight loss or solve any other health issues.
First, try to kick your fiber intake to 40 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber.
Whatever you do, get your fiber from your food, not from a jar.
Fruits and vegetables have good fiber in them. A high fiber diet increases the metabolism.
Try a breakfast cereal with at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of fiber in it. They are usually low in sugar so there is a double benefit. Blueberries or raspberries on top add more fiber and antioxidants. But fresh or frozen, not the kind in syrup. Oatmeal with berries or a bit of fresh honey is also good.
Raw nuts are a great source of fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. Avocados are the best.
Lots of beans, peas, and grains are high fiber. Whole grain breads. Fiber kicks up the metabolism so you actually burn more calories. These foods will give you more gas in the beginning but if eaten daily, the bacteria in the digestive tract will elevate lowering the gas output.
This will get you on the path for a healthy daily bowel movement. This helps clean the system and aids healthy digestion.
I know it goes against everything you’ve heard but eating lots of the right foods will actually help you lose weight!
Next, take an age appropriate basic daily multivitamin. Don’t look at your multivitamin as nutrition but more as an insurance policy. Think of it as filling in the gaps in your daily diet as opposed to a primary source of nutrients.
You have to drink lots of water to be healthy. But you can disguise it. Fill your glass all the way full with ice before pouring low sugar beverages. Try iced green tea with a splash of orange juice in it for sweet. More antioxidants. Add lemon juice to water for flavor. Slice up a cucumber and float it in pitcher of water. Gives it salty fresh taste. But you must drink up to 100 oz of water daily to help your body get rid of waste and the natural toxins.
Last, you need to get 7-9 hours of quality sleep depending on your age. All recent sleep studies report a connection between poor sleep patterns and weight gain. This includes going to bed as close to the same time every night including weekends. Most of us stay up late Friday and Saturday night and it throws us off.
You must combine a healthy diet with exercise to multiply the benefit. Whether an hour a day in the weight room or just a 30 minute brisk walk every day, the added benefit of a regular exercise program really do increase and accelerate healthy weight loss.

I lost 30 pounds in 5 months by spending my money at the grocery and gym and have kept it off for over two years. Less than 3% of people that attempt weight loss lose it and keep it off for two years. It is not easy. It is a lifestyle change.
Good luck and good health.

Try to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and lean protein and to get your body in great shape, try Pilates. Essentially, all Pilates exercises are abdominal exercises, working from the powerhouse and they zero in on the abdominals, build your core strength, and flatten your stomach.

Question by Big K: can anybody give me some good fitness tips before i go to basic training?

Best answer:

Answer by David B re
Assuming your not over weight, the first thing you want to do is find out what the standards are for your age (get that from your recruiter) and start training from there. You need to start a running program, learn how to do push ups and a lot of them as well as sit ups. Work on them everyday. Mornings are the best. You can join a gym to keep you motivated if you need it. By the way, learn how to jump rope. You will see results quicker on your cardio and damn good for the arm and shoulder muscles.
